The 100 original illustrations date back to 1930-1937, when Picasso drew the complete series, commissioned by Vollard, the art dealer.

* Sometimes, the artist drew a mark or figure on the edge of the stone or litho plate to test how the acid would react. This mark was usually destroyed before printing, but sometimes remained, not just on the test print but on the entire print series. This is a case in point.

Pablo Ruiz y Picasso, more simply known as Pablo Picasso (Malaga, October 25th, 1881 – Mougins, April 8th, 1973), was a Spanish painter and sculptor, and one of the most influential of the 20th century.

A crucial intersection between 19th century tradition and contemporary art, Picasso was an innovative and versatile artist who left an indelible mark on the history of art as the founder – together with Georges Braque – of Cubism. Following a rather tormented childhood – which is clearly expressed in his paintings from the so-called blue and pink periods – he shot to fame in the 1920s; his universally-renowned works include “Les demoiselles d’Avignon” (1907) and “Guernica” (1937).

A framed Marc Chagall (1887-1985) “Les Soucis” giclee print with facsimile signature depicting bright colorful flowers, and a red female figure. The print has been professionally framed in a gold finish moulding. The certificate of authenticity is included and attached to the back of the frame (see photos for reference).

mino ceretti was born in milan in 1930. He attended the brera academy under aldo carpi, graduating in 1955. He participated, together with guerreschi, romagnoni, ferroni, banchieri, vaglieri, in the creation of the existential realism group defined by m. Valsecchi. His works constitute important documentation of this trend. The first individual exhibition took place in 1955 at the san fedele gallery in milan. In the 1970s he devoted himself to still lifes. He organized individual exhibitions at galeria solferino in milan, at studio 3b in bolzano, in verona at studio della quaglia, and in 1975 in parma at galleria correggio. He was present in all reviews devoted to the situation in milan at the beginning of the 1960s. From existential realism to new history in piacenza and milan by g. Mascherpa in 1979 and 1981. He was also present at the exhibition pop art and italy, curated by r. Bossaglia and s. Zatti at the visconteo castle in pavia in 1983. He exhibited in montrasio arte gallery in monza. His pictorial research confirms his continuing exploration of the topic of image decay through the development of a series of landscapes and figures in what an object is shown to be when it disappears. These are cycles between heaven and earth and residual landscapes. In 1995 he took part in the exhibition figures of painting – art in italy 1954-1966 at the palazzo sarcinelli in conegliano veneto, where he was present again in 1998. He was a teacher at the albertina academy in turin.
