17th Century Oak Wainscot hall chair. This Handsome Chair, has a magnificent patina, the solid plank seat has a little carving to the front border, the back is carved with a large geometric design. The sturdy crook arms are supported with a turned upright, the simplicity of the design of this chair is accented by the stout legs and floor stretchers. This unpretentious country piece would be at home by the fire in a main hall, but a piece such as this has a stand alone country house quality. The chair is sound and in in good condition for its age, there is a slit in the back, this does not show unless it is lit from behind. The Chair is 44” high it is 25” wide and 20” deep, the seat height is 18”.

New upholstery – vinyl. Local discoloration on the wood. One chair has a glued side beam.

The seats of Arne Wahl Iversen, such as the Sculptural No. 70 and No. 61 (both from the 50s), strongly represent, due to the choice of materials and the soft curves, the Scandinavian post -war vision of practical but well -made and designed design. This great single chair, Model 60 is one of the strongest designs of this designer, they are in beautiful condition and are completely original. The original papierord seat is still in a very beautiful condition, unique!
