Amazing portrait believed to be from the 1800s by looking at the overall piece. Especially when u view the back with the age on canvas and wood stretchers. Beautifully created. I was told that it was purchased through auctions in Newport Rhode Island several years ago. This would be great in a library or study overseeing the collection of books. I am really not sure if this is originally from the United States or European.
