Vintage Design
Rare Pastoe liquor cabinet designed by Cees Braakman in the 1960s. The cabinet is made of wenge wood and stands on a sleek metal base. This version contains four drawers and a flap door. The top compartment contains a dark colored glass plate and plastic holder for drinks bottles, for example.
Cees Braakman was an important Dutch furniture designer who was best known for his wire steel chair designs for Pastoe.
Braakman has designed a lot for Pastoe and, according to the company, had a major influence on the company designs. He led the Pastoe design team from 1945-1978 and developed the company’s first post-war modern furniture line. Moreover, he provided a coherent collection of furniture with the emphasis mainly on functionality as utensils.
