French writing desk from the second half of the 19th century. Napoleon III furniture in Louis XVI style elegantly inlaid in walnut, palisander, maple, mahogany, ebonized wood and fruitwood. Finished desk from the center equipped with two drawers (see photo) complete with a working key. Wooden top in character covered in finely crafted leather with gilding decorations (see photo), of excellent size and service. Edge of the top in golden brass (see photo). Furniture supported by four solid legs in the shape of an inverted pyramid, also inlaid with bronze feet. Writing desk complete with excellent quality gilded and chiselled bronzes. Ideal piece of furniture to place in a study, lounge or living room, with beautiful lines and proportions. It has a small lack of veneering on the top (see photo), a structurally sound desk, overall in a good state of conservation.
