This solid and veneered mahogany piece of furniture, made in Paris, includes a drawer on the front with mitred mahogany bands. It is embellished on the inside with a chiseled bronze rod and an important frieze composed of scroll scrolls and an entrance in the center.
This drawer has a functional original lock with its key.
Below, the crosspiece and the “S” sides are underlined by a scalloped and chiseled half-round strip.
This sideboard also opens with two doors, with edge bands assembled with a miter cut, embellished on the inside with a scalloped bronze rod.
These doors open with a key, with authentic up/down lock in working order, accompanied by its bronze oval entrance with foliage motifs.
A half-round and square brass joint cover is attached to the right door.
The lower crosspiece and the sides are covered with a bronze rosary.
On each side, in reserve, this piece of furniture has two solid mahogany columns with stopped fluting and top and bottom flanges.
The set rests on four tapered legs with rings and clogs.
The oak veneer interior offers a shelf on cleats.
The “S” or waved sides each offer a drawer that pivots forward.
The latter has the same characteristics as on the front.
The top, clad in white Carrara marble that follows the lines, is surrounded by an openwork brass gallery with a slight return.
Note that the back, the frame and the bottom are in oak.
This mahogany sideboard will stand out for its elegance and quality workmanship.
