The &#8216;spider&#8217; lamp series was designed by joe colombo in 1965 for oluce, italy, a series of floor and table lamps with enameled sheet metal reflector purposely designed to take a special horizontal spot light bulb. A distinctive plastic knob allows the reflector to tilt. This arc desk task spider lamp is clamped to a table or other surface. It comes from the first production series. It is dated 1967, the very year the lamp won the compasso d&#8217;oro award. The lamp is in wonderful all original vintage condition, it comes inclusive the original cornalux&#8217; bulb. This bulb has a decorative shape (see photo) which ads to the design as it is visible through the opening of the reflector. (&#8216;cornalux&#8217; bulbs are nowadays also available in led).
